3/4/2024 Strategic Performance Report

Before every council meeting, staff issues a Strategic Performance Report. You can find the entire report here.

Some key points:

  • Unfortunately the planned erection of the pedestrian bridge and road closure of Camp Creek Parkway initially set for January 2024 has been rescheduled to June 2024, because of issues in the fabrication process. The entire bridge is being fabricated offsite in Texas.

  • We’ve received eighteen applications for the Grants Manager position at this time. Application reviews revealed that only a fraction of the applicants have grant experience. The goal is to hire a dedicated, qualified individual who will collaborate with departments, write, manage and report on grants for the City of College Park. This is an especially crucial position right now considering all of the federal funding available through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and other programs. We want to be able to be poised to capture our share.

  • The Promise Career Institute on Main Street received a visit from our fire marshal for its 80% facility inspection. It’s getting close to completion and Principal Jason Stamper shared in a recent meeting I attended that there will be a community open house so we can all see the transformation. More details to follow!
